Pediatric Physical Therapy: Prevention and Treatment

Because children are still growing and developing, they require advanced care in the form of sports medicine physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, and exercise specialists. We also handle sports medicine and massage therapy, and acupuncture depending on the child’s individual needs and health issues.

All children who visit our pediatric therapists will receive a thorough evaluation to determine the root of dysfunction or pain. Based on the assessment, we will recommend appropriate treatments and wellness programs for the child’s needs. Some of the testing we may decide to perform could include:
- Modality testing – through laser therapy, game ready devices, ultrasound, TENS, neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES), iontophoresis, and others
- Wearable Taping – such as leukotape, rock tape or kinesiotape
- Plyometrics and athletic drills
- Yoga or Pilates training
- Developmental sequencing
- Functional movement screening (FMS)
